Guest Bedroom Facelift and Some Other Stuff…

Good morning everyone! If we are friends on Instagram, you know that I’ve been working on a few mini projects and wanted to complete them before the hubby returned home. I had only 2 weeks to complete them. Above is the guest bedroom. I painted the bed head wall Benjamin Moore Soot. I also repainted the BM Revere Pewter that was on the other walls to BM White Dove.


Unfortunately, I was using this room as my “catch all” space. I am not a fan of folding laundry and usually would fold only the boys’ clothes and leave everything else! Yikes!  Anyway, I buckled down and tackled the space.

After painting the space, I had the fan replaced with this Sputnik look a like light fixture that I purchased from Lowes. Love it! The curtains were already in place.

I am waiting on a pair of swing arm lamps for the space, but I borrowed this one from my bedroom for the shoot.







There are still art pieces missing from the walls because I hate to make holes on freshly painted walls. Dada will do that when he gets home-reaaally soon!

In Other Areas

I papered the commode area of the Master Bath.  I originally intended to use a thrifted light, but used this very modern one that I had purchased from DWR when we first moved into this house. I totally forgot that I had it!

The foyer also got repainted. Benjamin Moore White Dove is on the walls, and door is painted Benjamin Moore Symphony Blue.  Big thanks to Lea of Lea Hartman Photography, the magic worker for capturing the spaces. I am off to go shopping at Victoria Secret. Have a lovely day everyone! xx

Which Style Are You?

Our Diy Easter Eggs.

The boys and myself were feeling creative, so we completed some Easter eggs diy yesterday. In addition to the thrifted candlesticks, the mantel is sporting some dip-dye neon eggs(an easy way to update your mantel for Easter).  Please note that in order to use the eggs to display like above or as a centerpiece, you would need to blow out the eggs first. Below, we show you how to make these in addition to a few more…

I bought a box of neon food/egg dye and the PAAS kit at Walmart(all pictured above). I used the cups from the PAAS kit to mix the neon dye.

In addition to the above items, you will need the following:

Hardboiled eggs

An empty egg carton or someplace to dry the eggs

A surface area prepped for completing this messy diy

Hot water

Vinegar

Tongs

Rubber gloves

The Process:

01 / Boil the eggs, remove from water, and let eggs dry and cool.

02 / Cover your work surface. I used an old towel.

03 /Make sure you have a place for your eggs to dry

04 / Mix one-teaspoon vinegar, 25 drops of food color, and 1/2 cup hot water in a PAAS colour cup and stir.

05 / Once eggs have cooled completely and their shells are completely dry, begin dying eggs. To create a two-toned egg, dip egg in one colour then move egg to dry for about 10 minutes. After egg is dried, dip other end in second colour.

Other Options with Sharpie and Chalkboard

For these options, we used plastic white eggs. Zion decorated them with a sharpie.

Voila! I want to also add that this was styled by Zion. He chose that orange wagon and arranged the eggs…

Leftover chalkboard spray paint came in handy for the chalkboard eggs. Again instead of hardboiled eggs, I used plastic white eggs.
