Flower Crowns and a Winner!

Hi everyone! How are you? I know it's been over a week since I last blogged, but I have been busy planning an important upcoming event; an event where yours truly will be adorned in a flower crown. The hubs and myself will be acknowledging our upcoming anniversary with an intimate love ceremony with family in our backyard.

Now back to the flower crowns; ever since they came on the scene, I fell madly in love with the look.  It's such a fun way for me to express my love of nature.  In addition, for the love ceremony, I am aiming for a vintage/boho feel, and a floral crown seems like the perfect fit. I've bookmarked a couple tutorials and will be attempting to make one later today. Wish me luck! Stay tuned for more regarding Saturday's festivities.

A Stylish Paris Apartment.

It's been awhile since we've visited Paris! Today we're off to explore this colorful abode located in Hausmann Paris, and  designed and renovated by interior designers, Daphne Desjeux and Dorothea Delaye. It's filled with lots of architectural eye candy, pretty color and banging style!  I love how they painted the base boards the same color as the wall. Very pretty color too!

The Planchonella House by Jesse Bennett Architect.

The Planchonella House designed by  Jesse Bennett Architects is located atop a rainforest ridge in Cairns, Australia.  Nestled in the topography and boasting an open floor plan with drool worthy details, it is not surprising The Planchonella House recently received a number of awards from Queensland Architecture Awards and Australian Interior Design. Cool Down with Mango Margaritas.

We recently returned from a mini vacation in Florida and we loaded up lots of mangoes when we were returning home.  In addition to making smoothies and mango chicken, we recently added mango margarita to the list of what to make using mangoes.

I saw the recipe in the Summer issue of  Good Housekeeping magazine that was waiting for me in my mailbox on returning home. I thought they must've known that I would be loaded with lots of mangoes and included that recipe just for me! Ha!

Here's the Simple Recipe:

Blend 6 cups ice; 3 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped; 3 Tbsp. orange juice; 2 Tbsp. honey; 2 Tbsp. lime juice; 1 tsp. grated orange peel; and 1 cup white tequila(optional). Serves 8.

Yummy! 

Wooden Letters Get Stylish with Vintage Wallpaper: A DIY.

A few weeks ago, I bought these wooden letters that spell LOVE from Target(their Handmade Modern Line). Although I loved their natural look, I wanted to spruce them up a bit.  I asked my friends on Instagram  if I should paint them and the consensus was a resounding PAINT THEM!

I was going to paint them, but then I remembered that I had wallpaper left over from this bedroom makeover, hence the idea to wallpaper them was born!

Armed with my always reliable glue gun, wallpaper, and letters, I set to work.

i traced each letter on the wallpaper using a chalk, then cut out each template. I then used the glue gun to glue the template to the surface of each letter.

And voila! With all the color from the books and accessories the white background of the wallpaper works beautifully. The letters most definitely stand out in the sea of color. I also adore the vintage vibe too. 

In other news, today was Zion's last day of school and being a Kindergartner! Let the Summer fun begin! xx

Layered Rugs.

Layered rugs is a trend that has been around for awhile and I think it's here to stay. Just like pillows, throws, candles, and really just about every accessory, I also have a thing for rugs.  Unfortunately for me, I always fall in love with the most expensive ones. And as they increase in size, so do the prices! Well layering rugs can come to the rescue with that. If you look at the space above, a great size sisal is used to ground the furniture(sisals are relatively inexpensive) and then layered with what looks like a Beni Ourain rug. If it is the real thing, then we know that those are not inexpensive! But one can buy a smaller more affordable version and layer away...

An Attic Renovation in Barcelona.

I am blown away by this penthouse attic renovation. An abundance of light was added from the installation of large windows, an open floor plan allows for everyone to feel connected and gives the new space an overall feeling of spaciousness.
